A nebulizer atomizes a test solution. As a crucial component of an atomization system, its performance significantly impacts the precision of measurements and reduces chemical interference. Therefore, nebulizers are required to produce stable sprays, fine and uniform droplets, and high atomization efficiency.

Common nebulizer types include ultrasonic nebulizers, compressor nebulizers, and mesh nebulizers.

Ultrasonic nebulizers: These utilize ultrasonic principles to atomize the medication. Advantages include uniform particle size and low momentum due to the ultrasonic waves, allowing them to easily travel with the airflow, resulting in small, stable particles. Disadvantages include the potential for overheating during prolonged use, leading to internal heat in the solution.

Ultrasonic nebulizers: Ultrasonic nebulizers are non-selective in their spray pattern. Therefore, most of the drug particles deposit in the upper respiratory tract, such as the mouth and throat. Furthermore, due to minimal deposition in the lungs, they are not effective for treating lower respiratory tract diseases. Meanwhile, because ultrasonic nebulizers produce large droplets and atomize rapidly, patients inhale excessive water vapor, humidifying the respiratory tract. This causes the dry, thick secretions that previously partially blocked the bronchi to absorb moisture and expand, increasing airway resistance and potentially leading to hypoxia. Furthermore, ultrasonic nebulizers can cause medication to condense into water droplets that adhere to the inner wall of the nebulizer, resulting in poor efficacy for lower respiratory tract diseases and a high demand for medication, leading to waste.

Compressor nebulizers: These are nebulizers driven by a compressor pump or oxygen, with a shorter nebulization time. Their advantages include a large nebulization output, small drug droplets, and a short nebulization time. Generally, 3-4 ml of medication only requires 5-10 minutes of nebulization. Compressor Nebulizers

The resulting negative pressure propels liquid or other fluids onto an obstruction, causing them to splash outwards at high speed, turning droplets into atomized particles that are then ejected from the outlet tube. 2. Easier to operate and use: The product comes with a 2-meter air tube, allowing for ample movement, usable while sitting or lying down; the nebulization components are lightweight, easy to wear and hold;

3. Uses pure drug nebulization, ensuring an appropriate amount of nebulized medication inhaled within a relatively short treatment time, reducing the risk of tracheal mucosal swelling and obstruction; the ultra-fine nebulized particles are less prone to collision and agglomeration, providing comfortable inhalation and allowing the medication to reach the bronchi and lungs, resulting in excellent clinical efficacy, especially suitable for treating lower respiratory tract diseases;

Mesh nebulizers: Nebulize medication through a mesh using vibration or other methods. The advantages are its small size, light weight, portability, low noise during operation, and tiltable design. Note that the mesh is prone to clogging when using suspensions (large molecule drugs, especially proteins), and the filter's durability is relatively low. Some product instructions recommend replacing the screen after 6 months of use.
